Hat Yai City Park
Located on Kanchanavanich Road, Tambon Hat Yai. It is the conversion of the area from a whole mountain into a park that is shady with large and small trees covering 900 rai.
Interesting places within the Park include:
- Hatyai Deepsky Observation for Science and Astronomy (Observatory) is on the top of Khao Kho Hong 300 metres before reaching the viewpoint on the top of the mountain.
- Khao Kho Hong is a small mountain within the Park with a road leading up to the top, so it is possible for cars and motorcycles to go up. A tram service from the visitor center is also available to the top of the mountain, and the fee is 20 Baht/person. On top of Khao Kho Hong, there is enshrined a large Buddha image in the posture of giving a blessing called “Phra Phuttha Mongkhon Maharat”. It is a Buddha image of Hat Yai with a height of 19.90 metres.
In front of the Buddha image is a viewpoint overlooking the city of Hat Yai. It is possible to see the scenery as far as Songkhla Lake. Tourists come up here in the evening because the sunset can be seen clearly.
- Hat Yai Cable Car, the first cable car in Thailand, is located on Khao Kho Hong. There are two cable cars for the distance of 525 metres that takes 2.5 minutes per time and can carry eight passengers per time. It is a route to worship the sacred items that are enshrined on the top of Khao Kho Hong, e.g., Phra Phuttha Mongkhon Maharat and the statue of Thao Maha Phrom.

Phra Maha Chedi Tripob Trimongkol
Generally, most of chedis in Thailand since the Sukhothai era are built from mortar. However, this chedi is the first stainless steel chedi in the world. The official name is "PhraMahathatChediTraiphopTraimongkon". It is generally called "Wat Stainless" or "Chedi Stainless".
Tourists can visit the well-decorated stainless steel inside the chedi. Each door in the chedi represents 8 days in a week (the Wednesday has 2 doors representing Wednesday morning and Wednesday night) and each day also has its own Buddha image in different attitutudes.You can go to the second floor by the spiral stainless steel ladder to take some photos of the chedi structure. Besides, on the second floor, there is a balcony, but normally, the doorkeeper locks the door. There are Quan Yin statue, Buddha's footprint, Buddha images and other interesting items.

Kim Yong Market
Located on Supasarn Rangsan Road and is a large gifts and souvenir market. Its full name is “See Kim Yong Market” It is the name of a wealthy Chinese person who owned the original land in this area. The Market is a two-storey building, which was originally an old movie theatre and renovated into a market. The upper floor has general merchandise stores, whereas the lower floor is a dried food market. Most of the products are imported from abroad, e.g., nuts, sweets, dried fruit, ready-to-brew beverages, etc. There are also products native to the South, e.g., woven fabric, table cloths, and Islamic headscarf (hijab). Kim Yong Market is a famous market alongside Santisuk Market, which sells electrical appliances, perfume, and cosmetics. It is located on Nipatuthit 2 Road in the same area.
